"Ambos Mundos" translates to "both worlds". We assume that Pete Johnson branded the cigar as such in reference to the blend using either a Nicaraguan Habano wrapper (on the No. 1) or an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper (on the No. 2), but it's just as likely that Ambos Mundos is used as a nod to "the best of both worlds" given the huge flavor and quality construction to low price per stick!
The real differences between these two medium to medium-full bodied gems are the cedar and spice notes that dominate the No. 1 and the leathery and earthy notes that dominate the No. 2. Both feature an underlying core of deep natural tobacco flavors, tingly pepper and rich cocoa.
In addition to being given numerous 90+ ratings Ambos Mundos was named to Cigar Aficionado's Top 25.
