Over the past few years La Madrina has become our number one cigar requested both domestically as well as internationally. It only made sense that we needed to compliment this line with perhaps a lighter more subtle extension. Hence, La Madrina Connecticut Shade was born.
Blending a Connecticut Shade cigar again brought back a lot of memories... memories of starting the blending process for Cubo Claro almost a decade ago. What started as skepticism on how much a Shade cigar can really be improved, turned into excitement as to how balanced and interesting we could make a Shade cigar.
By starting off with our original Habano blend, we were able to tweak a few components in the cigar and really create a blend that was truly creamy and balanced, but still not your typical Shade cigar. Not typical because it was uniquely and pleasantly interesting. Are we standing on the shoulder of our giant? We believe so and hope you agree.
