Inspired by the elusive cigars - more specifically, elusive custom rolled cigars - from the mysterious island we all know is close by, yet so far. La Colmena "The Beehive" is blended in old traditional Cuban methods, featuring entubado bunching, Cuban triple cap, and a historic Cuban covered foot, all masterfully rolled by true category 9 rollers all hailing from Cuba at Little Havana's El Titan de Bronze. The cigar's Ecuadorian Desflorada wrapper, dual Ecuadorian binders and Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers create a full strength cigar and impart notes of soft pepper, vanilla, cream, cedar, oaky barbecue and coffee, with a nice floral thread that finds its way in and out.
