Do I have to pay sales/tobacco tax?
  You only have to pay sales tax if you are located in Pennsylvania (6%) or New York (variable 7-8.8% based on your address).

New York residents must pay the state's tobacco tax. This is a 28.5% (cigar), 75% (pipe tobacco), and $4.35/pack (little cigar/cigarillo) figure based on the WHOLESALE cost of the product being ordered. Since this is variable and, frankly, complicated, our website DOES NOT account for this tax when you are checking out. So, once you place your order and we have a chance to review it, we will calculate your tax due and contact you to arrange payment BEFORE your order will ship.
I have a question on my charges.
  Oh you do, huh? You can review your order history at the "My Account / Order Status" section of your account. If you have further questions or concerns, please contact customer service at [email protected] or 877-81-EGARS.
I need a copy of my receipt/invoice.
  What?! Thankfully what you're asking for is no big deal! Click the "My Account / Order Status" link at the top right hand side of our site to print invoices.
When will my credit appear on my account/When will I receive my refund?
  We aim to apply all credits or refunds within 3 business days from the time we accept your returned item(s) (if there are any). Typically though all of this is handled same day. If we are reversing a payment back to your credit card, be advised that it may not immediately show on your account; that is entirely up to your bank or card-issuer.
When will my credit card be charged?
  Regarding credit cards: At the time you submit your order your credit card funds will be placed into a temporary hold status. Once a human reviews your order, processes it, and ships it, your credit card will be authorized for the full charge. We do our best to make sure that orders placed before 3:00 PM EST Monday-Friday are processed that day. Orders placed after 3:00 PM EST Friday will not be processed until the following Monday. In the event that your entire order is backordered, we will keep your funds in the temporary hold status until such a time that we are able to fully process and ship your order. In the event that your order is partially backordered, you will only be charged for those products that do ship. If you wish to cancel any backordered items, contact customer service at [email protected] or 877-81-EGARS.

To repeat: when you place an order your funds are placed into a temporary hold status, during which time your balance may show the funds as unavailable. Please know that this doesn't mean we've taken your payment! We do not receive your funds until your order has shipped!

Regarding PayPal: At the time you submit your order your PayPal funds will be transferred to us. The above timeline applies to orders paid via PayPal, although if you're paying with eCheck an additional hold of up to seven business days may apply before your order is processed and shipped. If your order is fully or partially backordered, we will hold your PayPal funds until your order has shipped. If you wish to cancel any backordered items, contact customer service at [email protected] or 877-81-EGARS.

There are times when we ask that you prepay for special order items or presale items. We will process your order and charge your credit card immediately as if what you were ordering was in stock; rest assured, any prepaid or presale items will ship as soon as they are made available to us.
